Diopsys® Light-Induced Visual-response (LIV)™ tests are painless, non-invasive, and provide your doctor with comprehensive information on the function of your vision.
You’ll hear our doctors refer to this as the “VEP test”. What they’re wanting to know is how well your eyes and your brain are working together. This objective test provides them with information about the performance of the eyes. For the patient, it’s a very easy exercise for the eyes. You just sit back and watch the screen.
The VEP portion of the test demonstrates how well the eyes are communicating with the brain. While the ERG portion of the test shows how well the retina is functioning. This information is then interpreted to help in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of vision disorders. These would include glaucoma and macular degeneration.
How should I prepare for the test?
All medications should be taken as usual unless otherwise directed by our doctors. Hair should be clean, dry and free of any gels, spray or oils. And we ask that you do not apply any lotion or makeup to the face on the morning of your appointment.
These are temporary limited hours (subject to change).
Exceptions outside of these hours may be available by appointment.
